The Engineering Process

The engineering process is the series of steps taken by individuals (engineers or developers, scientists, etc.) to create a solution or product. These products or solutions may be used in daily life to solve problems experienced by consumers or users.

The process starts with students defining the problem, researching it and identifying requirements that must be met. Then they brainstorm ideas, and consider what others have done to solve the same problem.

After they have created a list of possible solutions, they pick the best one and build a prototyping. This step shows the students that they’ve accomplished a lot, and they can see how their idea becomes a real solution.

Students then test their prototypes in order to confirm that they are working as expected. They can also use the prototypes to make improvements to their designs.

The designers will likely have to go through many prototypes until they find a design that is both functional and complete. This iterative approach teaches them to never stop improving their designs.

The process of engineering can be used to solve problems throughout a student’s life, whether they decide to become engineers. They more info here can use the skills they have learned to complete any project, whether it is building skyscrapers or making sneakers.
